Structure#

POPROX asks questions of all subscribers on the website when they sign up.

Mandatory#

These questions are required to be asked as a condition of our IRB. Non-US residents and non-adults are not allowed to be participants. We also need users email addresses but these are not ever shared with researchers.

There is an informed consent form. Participants cannot join POPROX without agreeing.

News preferences#

We ask users their preferences for different types of news.

Question scale:

  • -2: Not at all interested

  • -1: Not particularly interested

  • 0: Somewhat interested

  • 1: Interested

  • 2: Very interested

  • 99: No response

POPROX does not currently support participant compensation. However, we collect these preferences in anticipation that some IRBS / experiment designs may require compensation and we would like to have the users’ preferences up front.
